summer drawings - new smaller vessel brooches

A new series of smaller brooches - - -

For quite some time I have been considering how I might translate some of my still life ideas into stitch. I've sketched with my machine and not been particularly impressed with the results. But more recently I had another think about it and realised I needed to keep things small-scale - and so I now have these four brooches, all modest in size and yet quite detailed. They are a happy marriage, if you like, combining my stitch portraits with my still life love of vessels... The blue and white is timeless yet allows for so many possibilities....

A small brooch may be pinned on a jacket or blouse, but can also look at home nestled in amongst objects on a shelf, sitting on top of a picture frame or pinned to a curtain....

These will be in my shop on Tuesday 9th June at 4pm UK time
