drawings on the wall

drawings on the wall

Hello, it's May - how are you finding the start of this month? It has been a chilly, spots of rain kind of a day here. I have been busy with housework duties (and considering objects, making arrangements for my next still life paintings). Yesterday I wrote quite a bit about how my work has been evolving. I did write quite a bit, my hope is that it makes some sense.... My post yesterday was very much about my newest still life paintings. They take up most of my working hours. However, I should say there are two main strands to my current working - the still life paintings and expressive drawings (see above). It seems that working on something very concentrated and then something more spontaneous helps me greatly. I enjoy both ways of working.

This week I am continuing on with new still life paintings - and new drawings too. Hope to share more soon.

Have a good week ahead
